Instructions For Installing Commercial Blast Freezers

Instructions For Installing Commercial Blast Freezers

It is always suggested everywhere that setting, installation, connection, and maintenance work for your commercial blast freezers or chiller should always be performed only by a professional man who is aware of building these cooling equipment or from someone who is technically qualified and is related to an authorized manufacturing company of blast freezers.

But still, if you have a little know-how about commercial blast freezers or chillers installation, and you want to do it by yourself then these are the steps you must follow in order to install the freezer in the right manner.

Transport and handling of the Commercial Blast Freezers

If you want to properly transport and then handle your commercial blast freezers, you must abide by the following instructions given below:

  • With the intention of avoiding any sort of damage to any external objects or injury of any person involved during the shipping of your blast chiller, you should always use proper means of transport and equipment of course.
  • You should always double check if the means of transport that you have selected is really appropriate with respect of the weight of your blast chiller-freezer.
  • You must always remember that during the transport of the commercial blast freezers, it should never be turned upside down or laid on its one side. This position can cause damage to the equipment and effect the cooling cycle in a bad way because the refrigerant would get disbalanced in this way.

Unpacking and setting

Before you start installing the equipment, it should be unpacked very carefully.

  • You need to set your commercial blast freezerz or chiller that is still packed with the help of an appropriate forklift in the area of the final place where you have decided to install it.
  • After that you will have to carefully cut the tape and then pull its cardboard packaging in a direction upwards. In this way you can avoid any sort of damage to your freezer, always remember to not use many sort of sharp knives or any other tools of such kind.
  • You will then have to take out the wooden base and set your freezer in the final position.
  • After that also take off the PVC protective film from all the four sides of your freezer.
  • Carefully remove the plastic protection from the sides in order to measure the temperature inside the product.
  • You will then have to place the equipment in a position that is leveled that is in a well ventilated room.
  • Please remember to avoid putting your blast freezers close to a direct source of heat or in such areas that are directly subjected to sunlight.
  • The place that you have decided to keep your blast chiller should always be set, must be well ventilated and free from any sort of dust.
  • The air humidity in that area should always be equal to a maximum of 70%.
  • Any kind of uneven spots that are on the floor should be eliminated before you start the installation.
  • You will have to leave free up the space in the area where air is sucked into and exhausted out of the unit that is around the ventilation openings in order to make sure that this area is properly ventilated.
  • The balanced temperature of the refrigerant should be in the range of +16 °C to +32 °C.
  • The floor of your freezer must be properly sealed in order to avoid penetration of water from the outside range. You may seal or cover it with the help of a silicone.
  • Always keep a distance of at least 50 cm on all sides in order to make sure a proper air circulation.
  • All the elements of the packaging of your freezer should be disposed of in accordance with applicable regulations of your region. In no case may they constitute a burden to the environment.

Electrical connection

If by any chance your commercial blast freezers are delivered without the plug for the connection to the power supply line, then this connection should always be made by any qualified worker or mechanic. If in case the connection is made by any user or by any unqualified workers, the manufacturer will be spared from any and all responsibility in case of any haphazard.

In order to make a proper electrical connection for your commercial blast freezers, you should follow the instructions given below.

  • You must check the reliability of all the power supply lines that are to be get involved in this process. In case of any damage, you must call a qualified specialist in order to perform the repair.
  • Always remember that the supply voltage must be consistent to the values that are required in the data place of the freezer.
  • The electrical cable that you have should have a unified multi-pole main switch which opens all the contacts, that also includes all those in the zero conductor.
  • The minimum distance between open contacts should be equal to 3 mm and the cable must be connected to an applicable overcurrent switch or the fuse.
  • All the selected factors and settings must be compatible to those that are given in the manual with respect to your blast freezer’s model and company.
  • The main switch should always be located close to your blast freezers so that it is easily acceptable and facilitates its use each time for the freezer.
  • The ground cable that is made by the company must be connected to the proper grounding terminals that are the clamps of your blast freezers.
  • It is forbidden to use connections, multiple plug sockets, extension cables, and cables without consent to cross-section.
  • Local standards must be obeyed by in all cases.
  • The detailed information that concerns the electrical connection should be found in the manual given to you with your freezer, in the operating instruction or on the back wall of the equipment.
  • During any normal function of the blast freezer and during its maintenance, the installation cable must not be stretched or crushed in any case.

Connection of an external unit

After you unpack the unit properly, you will have to perform the following procedure:

  • You will have to set the equipment on a steady and balanced ground.
  • After that set your unit under a proper cover that can protect it against any harsh weather conditions and at the proper distance of 10 m from the blast chiller or freezer.
  • You should avoid putting your equipment very close to a direct source of heat or in an area that is directly exposed to the sunlight.
  • You should always maintain a distance of 500 mm from the air inlet and 1,500 mm from the air outlet.
  • After that connect the coolant pipes to the unit.
  • You will need to make sure that the air circulation of oil in the vertical ducts is proper.
  • The equipment is delivered without the coolant.

Electrical connection

Your commercial blast freezers or chiller should be connected with 2 electrical cables (you may find the diagram related to this in your manual) in accordance with the data specified in the wiring diagram on the connections board in the condenser module. When connecting the condenser to the connections board, you must examine the line number and the terminal number.

Connection of coolant hoses

In order to connect your commercial blast freezers with the coolant hoses, follow these simple steps.

  • You must connect the liquid hose of the condenser to the liquid hose of the blast chiller-freezer.
  • Then you will have to connect the hot gas tube of the condenser to the hot gas tube of the blast chiller-freezer.
  • After that, properly connect the suction duct of the condenser to the suction duct of the blast chiller-freezer.
  • Open all closing valves in the freezer, leave the common cooling cycle, and double check the tightness.
  • You will have to fill the cooling equipment with the R404a/R507 coolant.
  • If in any case the condenser is set higher than the blast chiller-freezer, provide the system with appropriate air traps.
  • When connecting both the units you should avoid reducing pieces, reduce all bends to a minimum as possible, protect the pipes as appropriate and provide the suction duct with proper and suitable insulation.

Tips Concerning Commercial Blast Freezers Installation

After you set and connect your commercial blast freezers or chiller, the qualified technical staff should check if the installation has been accomplished properly.

  • You need to check proper operation of electrical connections.
  • Always make sure that the input power conforms with the applicable standard.
  • You need to make sure that the gas pressure in the cooling system is accurate.
  • Operate at least one full cooling cycle with the aim of making sure that all parts of the equipment are working properly.
  • Before the startup, the equipment should be cleaned properly.
  • Such accessories as guides, frames, etc. should be installed as required at an appropriate height.
